Stained
Stained introduces my old apartment as a site for research, creation, and exhibition, continuing the exploration of the absence of visual imagery from "Tetralogy of Absence" (2022-2024).
It attempts to evoke personal affection towards living spaces through non-visual perceptual experiences. The traces of life are like stories in stained glass, soy sauce stains washed off clothes, light spots on the iris, the breath of a candle, and the spaces of dreams and memories.
These unnoticed, fleeting moments are like residual yet non-existent stains. These memories, which cannot be archived as visual images, are shaped and challenged in their authenticity by how emotional perception creates affective connections with them.
